The new Water Treatment Plant for the City of Winnipeg was a $300 million-dollar project. Synergy Interior Design was hired to be a part of this multi-faceted team on this project. The interior design team was responsible for all millwork details, material and colour specifications.
Vernacular natural materials were used in this project to reflect the building's function to treat Winnipeg’s water supply coming from Shoal Lake. The architect involved had specified Tyndal Stone on the exterior and river rock in the landscape and we complemented those materials with slate and a nature-based colour scheme.
The curved reception desk was detailed out in burled maple, glass and stainless steel to complement the slate floor which added interest to the space. Office millwork, locker rooms, bathrooms and staff lunchroom completed the scope of our responsibilities.
